Words Make Me Laugh

Those that know me well, and there are few who can claim this, know that I think that I am very funny. I laugh at myself all the time and often have a hard time even delivering the funny line because I'm laughing before I even say it. I get this from my dad. He thinks he's very funny as well, and he is, but the rest of the world doesn't always get it. My kids think I'm weird, especially my daughters. Sometimes I think they're right. My son kind of gets it, because let's face it, guys are funny and girls really are not. Other times like this, I know that I have heard something funny and must find a way to work it into the conversation. The beauty of this forum is that there is no give-and-take. I give and you take, without interuption. OK, so you can get bored and click on one of your so-called favorites, but it won't be as funny as this.

A local nursery is sponsoring part of the radio show I'm listening to on my drive home. This a plant kind of nursery, not a baby kind of nursery. So the announcer is describing the wonders of the e-newsletter covering gardening tips. At 85 m.p.h, I'm half-way paying attention to the radio and trying not to get side-swiped by an 18-wheeler when I hear how I can subscribe to the "Gardening Tipsy Newsletter". I'm thinking, that's my kind of gardening, and then it occurs to me that what she was actually saying was that I could subscribe to the " Gardening Tips e-Newsletter". I repeated it out loud to myself and laughed. Try it. It's funny! I'm laughing now just thinking about it. I laughed when I told Cindy. She thinks I'm weird too.
